New to the list, I am searching for the connection between Oliver and Ira Furry and the four people buried in Ira's cemetery lot at Fraser Cemetery in New Westminster.. Their names are Francois Plante, George Mayers, Caroline Mayers and Sarah Mayers. Oliver Furry was an early trapper and prospector who filed a mining claim on the land that would one day become the Jane/Britannia Copper Mine. Furry Creek along Howe Sound is named for him. Ira is the older brother who survived him and handled his estate. Ira once owned land on Bowen Island and married Lucy Dionne in 1876. Lucy and their daughter Louisa Jane died a few years later and all four are buried at Fraser as well, in unmarked graves, the lot still registered in Ira's name to this day. Were the Mayers family (Buried in 1946, 1965 and 1975) relatives or descendants? Neighbors, friends... a delightful mystery I would love to solve. I am the great grandaughter of Ira and Oliver's sister Louisa. Thanks, Ellan West
