    3. Lorri, You didn't indicate which war your GGF served in but I'm guessing you meant the Gt. War (WWI). I would recommend that you join the Rootsweb list titled "GREATWAR" and ask your question there. There are lot of British listers there and I have frequently seem people looking for similar information helped to find sources of "official" papers. Some are even "on-line." There is also a "CAN-WW1" Rootsweb list but I'm guessing the universal one would be of more use to you. If you had any further information about your GGF that you could add to your request to that list i.e., dates, battalion, service numbers, etc. including it would increase your chances of getting better data.
