I'm trying to find the marriage of a cousin and this is all I have to go on: Edward COLLINGRIDGE, s of James and Stella (nee HERON) b 28 Oct 1881, Hackney, London. Left England for Canada - date unknown Married a Canadian girl called Sarah (suname unknown), date unknown Served as a Lieutenant in the Canadian Army during WWI. I have his military papers in which he names his twin brother as his next of kin and gives his address as Vancouver. His DoB is a year out according to his papers. He returned to England at some point but doesn't appear to have brought Sarah with him, at least I haven't found a death registration that would fit her, and I don't know if he had any children by her. If she did come back with him, she pre-deceased him as it's his neice who was the informant of his death. Of course, her name may not have been Sarah. Edward's a bit of a loose end flapping in the breeze at the moment. I just want to anchor him. Where would I need to contact in order to get Edward's marriage certificate? Is it possible to get such a recent certificate? -- Charani (UK)
