Hello this is my first post to this list. I picked put a copy of a post on the list listing death notices from the British Coulmbiam in 1916, including Charles Edward SEYMOUR who married Elizabeth McFarlane DODS (my great-grandmother Mary Catherine Dods, nee DODS, sister). Both the DODS & SEYMOUR families moved out to BC from Montreal at the turn of the century. Charles & Elizabeth's son, Charles Edward SEYMOUR was a Steamer Captain, he died in 1928 onboard his steamer the S.S. Skeena, in New Westminister. The DODS family had a firm P D Dods Ltd, which manfactured Paint, it had branches in Montreal, Vancouver & I think Toronto. I don't know what happened to the firm maybe it went belly up in the depression. If any can help, I'd love to hear from you.
