    1. Re: [CAN-BC] I have hundreds of photos of locations in many areas of BC

    3. Hi, I've received several helpful suggestions and several with specific interests. I appreciate them all. I've not had luck in getting any answer from the BC Archives, using any of their email contacts, but I'll keep trying. After moving Dad into assisted living, which became necessary this year, I've been entrusted with the photo albums for the most part, and have been scanning photos whenever I can. I've mostly started with the ones containing family, but I have stack and albums full of old photos taken in BC. My Dad's family is the one who moved around the most, but my mother had some from when she was a teacher in several locations out in the province in the 1930's, and some of the old Capilano ones may be of interest to some. I'll let you know now which ones I've done so far. This is just a bare start for this project, which will take some time. You may be able to help me identify some locations which weren't noted on the photographs also, and I hope they'll help someone. Anyway, here's some I have so far: (1)not exactly BC, but photos of aircraft Dad flew in training in Ontario in 1944 (2)at the BC Archives site, you can find a photo of the Sheep Creek Mine laundry/bathhouse. The young woman with the Hanson family is unidentified, but she was my grandmother, Catherine Purcell/Bundy. I have another picture of them at a later time also (3)Catherine Bundy with railroad repair crew at Christmas time, with hats from Christmas crackers (4)Greyrocks BC, looks like a dock (5) James Ramsay (maternal grandfather) with railroad crew about 1910, probably somewhere up the Frazer River canyon (6) James Ramsay marching into camp Vernon in 1916 (7) Leonard P Bundy (Dad about 4 years old) with parents on Observation car sightseeing Vancouver in 1925, "Teddy" Lyons conductor (8) Ocean Falls party, probably 1947. In Ocean Falls, people had to create their own entertainment in many cases. (9) Snowy Ocean Falls looking out the Inlet (10) Ocean Falls, launch of first boat Dad built, probably 1947 (11) Wingdam BC in the 1930's I think what I'll do is announce on the list when I scan another photo that may have information of interest. Of course, I have many more with groups of friends in Vancouver that I can't identify, several of those photos taken of family as they walked up and down the sidewalk near Hudson's Bay, taken by a street photographer and sold to us, etc. Jim Bundy at Kirkland Washington, where its snowing! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Bundy" <jbundy48@comcast.net> To: <CAN-BRITISH-COLUMBIA@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 27, 2006 3:54 PM Subject: [CAN-BC] I have hundreds of photos of locations in many areas of BC > Hi, > I'd like to ask a local expert if there'd be any interest in these many > many photos I have, mostly taken at logging, mining, and railroad camps > all around BC from 1912 till about 1940.
