    1. [CAN-BC] Post 1901 Census - Website updates and Access to Information request
    2. Gordon A. Watts
    3. Greetings All. Files have just been sent to update the Post 1901 Census Project website. Scoreboards have been updated with five new Gold Ticks of support for access to Historic Census records. These have been posted for Senators Jean-Robert Gauthier (ON), Wilfred Moore (NS), and Roch Bolduc (PQ). MPs receiving them are Julian Reed (ON) and Benoit Sauvageau (PQ). New pages have been added, in both english and french, to deal with our Application for a Judicial Review. Links have been added to enable easy subscription to the Canada Census Campaign mail list. On another subject: It has now been 30 days since Environics Research Group was to submit their Report on the Town Hall Meetings and Focus Groups held for Statistics Canada. There has been no indication to date of any intention by Statistics Canada or the Minister responsible to make that Report available to the public. Therefore, by the time you read this I will have mailed my Access to Information Request for that Report to Statistics Canada. Statistics Canada will have 30 days from receipt of my ATI request in which to respond. By law, they must either produce the Report or, if it is intended to publish the Report within 90 days, they can refuse my request on that basis. We are not prepared to wait seven months for this Report as we had to do for the Report of the Expert Panel. We see no reason why it cannot be released immediately, either with, or without comment. The Report of the Expert Panel was made available on day 89 of the 90 day period within which they were required by law, because of my ATI request to do so. Happy Hunting Gordon A.
