Can someone tell me what might be at 3578 - 28 Avenue Hastings East, Vancouver - in Sep 1914? Is that a residential district or hospital or.... Trying to verify a family 'story'. Thanks! Del. Christien

Hello all, I too have had problems trying to find out about a an address in Vancouver. Mine is Suite 2, 1672 Hastings St. east. I contacted the Vancouver archives some time ago about the address and they told me that the address has never existed. I find this odd because relatives of mine, George and Eleanor Wheeldon once lived at that address. The address is mentioned on their son's, Edward's, death cert.(1918) and also on Eleanor's marriage cert.(she remarried in 1918 for whatever reason) Also can anyone tell me if the church my Eleanor was remarried in at 1144 Broadway St/Av. This Address should be at approximately Commercial Drive and Hastings Street. - a number of blocks east of the Strathcona District of Vancouver. Hi Del, I didn't manage to get to the Library today. A bit of stomach upset, won't ever buy packaged food again. I will check the City Directoy 1914 - for the address # 28 - 3578 East Hastings Street. and get back to you with the information. This will be just 1 block from Hastings and Boundary road.
