    3. Goodmorning list - We finally received the 1940 war registration for our Charles William FORD we've been hunting. On the form he stated No previous military experience. I was certain that he was the same Charles William FORD that we had found on the Canadian Attestation papers. Of course I could be wrong but my question is - would a person have had a reason for lying about this on the 1940 war registration questionnaire??. Thoughts appreciated......................debi

    3. Debi, There are only two Charles William FORD attestation papers on the CEF data base. One of them would have been age 56 in 1940, the other age 43. You can rule out the older of these two as I am certain that the army would not recruit someone of that age. The younger one may have been permitted to enlist in 1940 although I am not certain what the upper age limit was. Does the information such as birth date, place of birth, etc. given on either of the CEF attestation papers match the 1940 registration?
