    3. Hi Audrey, I know that you did search the Cemetery in New Westminster. Did you check with the Cemetery Office.they should have information of all burials in that particular cemetery. If you believe that Mary Alice HODGE [nee Taylor] perhaps Marie Hodge passed away in Saskatchewan. Have you contacted the Govt. of Saskatchewan - Vital Statistics Dept. I believe they search a number of years either side of a given year. The Death Registration will show the name of the Cemetery where a burial took place. The Death Registration will also show the name of the Funeral Home -in Saskatchewan -that handled the arrangements for registering the death - and the transfer of the body to British Columbia, the Vancouver/New Wesminster area. There may also be information about the Funeral Home or Cemetery that handled the care in B.C. Are you certain that she was transferred to B.C. or perhaps buried/cremated in Sask.? Knowing that errors can occur . Since Mary [Marie] Alice HODGE - was living with her daughter - Perhaps she was buried /cremated? under the CREE surname? I know you have searched under the HODGE - have you searched HODGES. *Searching the B.C. Cemetery Finding Aid: http://www.islandnet.com/bccfa/homepage.html Finds a Mary A. HODGE - buried at St. Peters Catholic Cemetery in New Wesminster B.C. - I believe that you did check that one out - a few years back. There is no Mary A. / Mary Alice HODGE - listed at the Govt of B.C. Vital Events Index Deaths 1872 - 1984. http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-CAB744/gbsearch/Births,Marriages,Deaths So I assume that this was a death outside the Province of British Columbia. -perhaps checking this one out again would be helpful. Checking the OBITUARIES - for the time frame mentioned - would be quite a task. Have you checked in Saskatchewan - Perhaps an obituary was also published in Regina Saskatchewan - The Public Library - may have newspapers in their collection - perhaps have an index of obituaries. I believe New Westminster Public Library New Westminster Public Library - Reference Dept: http://www.nwheritage.org/heritagesite/history/content/cemetery.htm has some Obituaries indexed -[not online] *Not all cemeteries have a database online - would certainly be helpful. RAOGK http://www.raogk.org/bcolumbia.htm http://www.raogk.org/saskatchewan.htm http://www.raogk.org/alberta.htm Wishing You much luck with your search Cheers, Stella At 09:25 AM 2/25/2005, Audrey Bowne wrote: >I am looking for info on my grandmother > >Mary Alice Hodge (maiden name Taylor) 1st name could be Marie >b 1890 Hamilton Scotland >m 1913 Innisfail Alberta Canada >d between 1948 and 1952 (should be closer to 1950) I think she died at 60 >years old >she died in Regina SK and was living with her daughter Gertrude Mary Cree >how do I get a bodies in transit info or a death certificate >She may be buried in a New Westminister.Cemetery >I went to the graveyard and did not find her grave but, as you go in alot >of land to the right was covered up with grass and maybe alot of graves >are under the grass >Who has the database ? >Fraiser Cemetery is accross the street >I would like to find the newspaper obit and death certificate >Her husband Charles Frederick Hodge died in the 1st WW 1917 and she never >remarried >also looking for any HODGE families now living in the Innisfail Alberta area >thanks >Audrey Bowne >Seattle >[email protected] > > > > >--------------------------------- >Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
