Thank you to everyone that responded to my posting seeking information about my Grandfather that was in the Vancouver Police Department. The only information that I have about his resigning from the police force is: Thomas Stanley Laycock (more commonly known as Stanley Laycock), was promoted to Inspector in the Vancouver Police Department. He was demoted and fought this demotion in the BC Supreme Court. The decision was upheld in the courts, so he decided to resign rather than take the demotion. I am hoping to find out the reason for the demotion. I would also like to find any court papers concerning this case. I am in Penticton, BC and do not know if I can access this information (if it is indeed available to me) from here. Thanks again for all the replies and very helpful tips! Jennifer
