We have 2/3 photos of my Dad, which were taken whilst he was walking along streets, in the business districts of Vancouver/Victoria. He'd been drafted to Pacific Command for 18 months, during (1941/42) WWll, at ages 20/21. I think this was a common practice in many cities. There is also one of my Mum taken in Glasgow Scotland c1944, which is nice as it is the only photo we've seen of her, head to toe, in her WRNS uniform. Plus, we've quite a few photos of several members of my husband's family which were taken as they walked along Marine Parade, Brighton/Hove Sussex England. These latter photos were taken over a period of 15 or so years, 1930s / late 1940s. Husband's sister, cousin and himself at various ages show the photos were taken over several years. Will have to dig them out to see if they do mention who the photographer / studio was. Toni ~ Ontario

    3. Hi Toni, Its true, I do have a few taken in Glasgow that way, but when I was a child I remember those in Vancouver, and never saw that occur in any of the areas of the USA where I lived later. Maybe that was just timing, and it was a dying industry by then.
