    3. Hi Marv, We have the similar memories - though - Main street is quite a distance from Cassiar street . You possibly had been thinking of Hastings Street instead. Do you remember the street car loop - at Boundary and Hastings. Glenburn Dairy on the Vancouver Side. They had the very best Chocolate Ice Cream. Woodwards Grocery - the Very Best - Our first taste of some International foods -imported by Woodwards - The Luncheonette on the Mezannine floor - sandwiches on their own cheese bread. - Heavenly - Nothing to this day can match it. Best Pumpkin, Strawberry,Blueberry - Mince pies - Great dinners -in the dinning room on the grocery floor. Even my mother would eat there. Shoe Department - with the X Ray machine - I think most shoe stores had these - as well - Wonder what damage they might have done.but it was fun looking at our feet - *Even though my father believed in Sturdy shoes that would last, they looked like boys shoes - when I wanted Ballerina or patent. styles. Feet grow - so couldn't see the need for Sturdy. I still have transit tickets - real keepsakes - some from family - back in the 1920's * Yes - The Bad Girls School - just the idea - kept us good.;-) If I recall - there might have also been a Bad Boys school - at the other end of the site - could be very wrong. I may go for a Very Long Walk - on some unrainy day - just to have a look about. Cheers, Stella At 08:00 PM 04/02/2007, Marv Coulthard wrote: >I remember it too...
