    1. Post-1901 Census: How About A Strange Christmas Present for One Who Works for US
    2. Muriel M. Davidson
    3. To all:- This special message may be forwarded to friends and other lists, but I am only sending it to lists I administer and the two, NOVA-SCOTIA and LUNEN-LINKS, where the first item about census release was made in March 1999. Of course it is being sent to the CCC list and committee!! One of the best Christmas presents at this point in the life of Bill S-18 would be a HUGE stack of petitions -- we use Non-Resident and Senate in the Senate, House of Commons in the House of Commons. The Non-Resident is for all those other than Canadians. Download from http://www.globalgenealogy.com/Census/index.htm There are addresses where to send beneath the petitions. Families are gathering at this time of year, students may get these signed at school (print a copy of this memo and send petition copies -- the teacher might love you). I have yet to see a petition from a Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions or other clubs. Surprise me!! Street addresses are not needed -- NAME, CITY, STATE or PROVINCE, ZIP/POSTAL CODE. I know Senator Lorna Milne's policy advisor is on the CCC list -- but this is one time he will not report to his "boss". Thanks, Jeff! Senator Milne is a genealogist -- her work for us has interrupted finishing several books plus important research -- she knows all about "brick walls" -- the 1911 census might knock down one of them. I do not mind if you only send in Page 1 -- but hopefully both 1 and 2. Let's surprise Senator Milne -- my delivery system is to put them in at the mail slot in her door -- let's cover the rug that is on the inside of her hallway!!! Muriel M.
