Hi Everyone, I am new on the mailing list and I am hoping someone may have already discovered the answer to this question. I have relatives that came across from Southampton to New York in January 1914. Their final destination was Vancouver. At that time period what train route would they have taken from New York to Vancouver and which border crossing would they have been likely to go through? Any suggestions gratefully received Lorna
Hi there, I am new to this list and need a bit of guidence, I have an IGI 1881 Canadian Census Record for a Peter OLLIER it only lists the place as the following: Cassiar & Northern Interior, New Westminster, British Columbia. I have also found another reference to a Peter OLLIER on the 1875 B.C. voters list, his location is given as Lightning Creek. Would these two locations tie up? or could someone tell me where they are? Many thanks. Lawrence Ollier.

In a google search I found a picture of Kirk McLelland as part of a ceremony and he worked for a landscaping company. He was supposed to live in Nanaimo at one time. There is no Kirk on 411.ca Does anyone know of him? His mother and my father were close cousins at one time. Kirk's sister is Pat Wright who I think also lives on the Island. Does anyone know of her? Bonnie in California
Hi: I found Sven/Svend/Swan Blom/Bloom, who ended up going by Swan Bloom, and traced his trail into Alberta, found a wonderful bio on him and sent it all direct to Magnus. CC'd the List but it hasn't come through so perhaps what I sent was too long. Hi, I've scanned another page now. One is of "Waldo Camp", where my grandparents worked, another has some kitchen staff, one is of the Northern Hotel at Salmo, and the other is of a pack train at Salmo in 1910, and shows some of the town also. As always, please let me know if you'd like to see a copy, and I'll send them to you. Jim Bundy
Hi, I just scanned another page of an old album, several of Waldo in 1917, one of my grandmother and a friend fishing in the Elk River there, and one of her sitting on a bank. The first 3 were taken in 1917, but the last one is noted as 1918, so that could have been somewhere else. As always, just let me know, and I'll be happy to share copies with you. Jim Bundy
