Hi, Besides my mother and her sister in this photo, there are some childhood friends, a Mary Finlayson, an Aileen Binns, and a Douglas Finlayson. This would have been taken in the late 1920's, in the back yard of our old family home at Capilano. Let me know if you'd like to see a copy. Jim Bundy
Hi I just wanted to let everyone who emailed me about lookups know that I will do my best to get to all of the requests that I have had, but I don't know that I will be able to get all of them in the 2 hours that I have available. I will do them in the order that I received them and will email you tonight as to whether I managed to get them or not. If you are not in a rush for the information, I can keep them in my RAOGK file for the next time I get to the library. Thanks Tara
I'm going to the library tomorrow and I am willing to do lookups in the BC Vital Records if you send me the film number and registration number. If you just want a transcription it is free, if you want a copy it will be $1 per page (cost of copying and postage). *****I will be leaving by 9:30am PST tomorrow morning (Saturday), so please do not email me after this time as I will not be able to help again for a while (I go every couple of months). Tara Hawkins
I enjoyed all of them. Gotta love the one with the bus. You sure have some treasures there. ~ Lyn

Hi, I've continued to scan old pictures, most that are just my own family, but some that include more, like this one. The Tully family were apparently some other neighbours, and if you might know who they were, I'd be happy to share this scan. Jim Bundy
Hi Jim. I really enjoy your old photos, and would like to see these too, if it's not too much trouble. Thanks for offering! ~ Lyn

Hi, I just scanned this photo of my mother and aunt in the 1920's. Anyway, you can see a portion of the bus they took to West Van from North Van. Its an old one all right. Also, it is parked on what seems to be a dock area. Let me know if you'd like to see it. Jim Bundy
Hi, Just wondering if anyone might be connected with the Burns family in this photo, taken during a Sunday afternoon walk in Capilano, probably around 1930. The Burns in this family consists of the parents and 1 small girl. Just let me know if you'd like to see a copy. Jim Bundy
HI, I've just scanned a picture of the Capilano School with my aunt Nancy Ramsay and Mom in front. They both attended there, and so did I in 1954, before we moved to Texas later that school year (1954). Mom mentioned an older school called the "green school", but I don't think I have a picture of that one. In its last year, there was an outbreak of Diphtheria, and several children died, so the school was closed for part of that year. My aunt, 1 year older than Mom, was there in that school's last year. If anyone would like to see the picture, just ask. Jim Bundy
From: Andrew Farr <andrew.farr90@virgin.net> You folk in Canada are truly heroic! I'm spending a very wet Sunday happily replying to all you lovely people who have chipped with help. It pays off too! All the snippets have led me to three of the targets old work mates. We have chatted on the phone and I have got nearly all the info I need for the time being! I even have been offered somewhere to stay when I visit in the Spring! Happiness is a war baby with a computer, the Internet and people as super as as all you cybercontacts! Good luck with all that you strive to achieve, Kindest Regards, Andrew
Author: <mailto:andrew.farr90@virgin.net>A.Farr (andrew.farr90@virgin.net) Date: 2/20/2007 09:23 I am told my dad, Bruce Broadfoot, died in Nelson 4th July 1995 or thereabouts. Is there anyone in that fair city who knew him? I'm in the UK and never met him, but I'm told he lived in a trailer park with a lady called Barbara. Would love any information, however trivial. Feel free to contact me direct at andrew.farr90@virgin.net Thanks for reading, Andrew
To all:- Transcribing is coming along fine on all lists with the UNLOCKING of the WINNIPEG pages in Manitoba March 4, 2007. When unlocked, the original transcriber has the right to claim any pages if finished within a certain period. ALBERTA......................68.80% BRITISH COLUMBIA....74.09% MANITOBA..................100.01% Winnipeg is 99.99% QUEBEC........................98.87% SASKATCHEWAN........78.92% To make it easier, since Quebec is so close, check on these districts as there are about 200:- Jacques Cartier, Labelle, Levis, Maisonneuve, Montcalm plus a few more -- look for the black numbers at the left of the sub-district number. It will be interesting to see the percentages tomorrow evening, especially Manitoba. Happy transcribing, Muriel M. Davidson muriel_davidson@sympatico.ca Co-Chair, Canada Census Committee Brampton, ON
Hi Linda I don't see her listed in the BC Archives (current to 1987). Any idea how old she would have been when Arthur died; or, could she have remarried or moved out of province? ~ jill ^'*'^'*'^'*'^'*'^'*'^'*'^'*'^'*'^'*'^'*'^'*'^ "None are so old as those who have outlived enthusiasm." ~Henry David Thoreau ---------------------------- Hi I was wandering if someone would be able to help me with the following death. Hello all I received on another list a notice that indicated that the newspapers archived by the site "Paper of Record" are now free to search AND also free to see the actual newspaper page. I just tried it and it is indeed free - you must register with an email address and some other information but no credit card is needed and there is no fee structure that I could find on the site. It has newspapers for all over the world including the US and Canada, and dating back to the 1800's. It is also keyword searchable. Here is a link to the site http://www.paperofrecord.com/default.asp Hope this is of help to someone Sincerely Thelma

Hi All I am trying to find two registrations of deaths which took place at the same time on the 12 December 1908 at Christina Lake BC. Both men were drowned Alfred Ernest DOWN born 1882 England Archibald WILKINSON born 1872 England I cannot find these two men on the Vital Index. My question is if the body's were not recovered would this make a difference to the death certificate not being issued. Also would this mean the men would not be entered on the Vital Index Paul Stacey Waterlooville Hampshire UK ___________________________________________________________ New Yahoo! Good morning everyone: I am new to this list and I am hoping someone might help me out... I am trying to find a brother of my grandfather. His name is Burris Scott born in Fitzroy, Ont 1859/60. He is known (from obits) to be in B.C. in 1916, when his mother died, and 1926 when his brother, my grandfather died. He was in Ontario up until 1891 living at home in Westmeath. I have checked the Automated Genealogy Census for 1901 and 1911, and that is all I know of him... Any suggestions would be appreciated.. Thank you....Barb in snowy Ontario.
