Dear List, A thank you to all the people in Canada who have sent warm regards and prayers to your neighbors in America. And also to your Prime Minister for his support. As you can imagine it is hard for me to want to search for my roots at this time when we still have many people we will have to bury in the coming weeks. So many of us have family ties in Canada that lie in our past and present. Please continue to pray for us, and that GOD will direct the course of action our President must take. Paula Carscadden in California

Hello BC Listers, Are there any list members out there who frequent the Victoria city archives? I would like to get some copies of obits they hold. Will pay all your costs. Christopher Barttels Dayton, WA
Hello! This might be a silly question, but can anyone tell me if there is a way to figure out where the properties on legal land descriptions are without actually ordering the records? Also, what might actually be on the records? Thanks! Hello, Could I ask for someone to do a newspaper lookup for me? I have a Cyril Wilmot BURBURY who died 25 September 1954 at Langford, B.C. and was buried at Colwood Burial Park. I would like to know if there was a newspaper death notice or obituary for this person in the local newspaper of the time, and to obtain a transcription of same. I would be happy to reimburse costs for this. Alternatively, if you have any research interests in Tasmania, Australia, I would be happy to do some reciprocal lookups. Hi Renee; I found your family in the 1901 Census for Vancouver City as follows (found it on Ancestry.com) Reynard, George W. Born January 13, 1865 in England - emigrated to Canada in 1882 along with his wife, Reynard, Lucy E. show was born March 21, 1864 in England As of 1901, they had 2 children living with them, both born in ONTARIO Reynard, William J. Born July 16, 1884 in Ontario, and Reynard, Edith A. Born February 16, 1887 in Ontario. So, obviously the Reynard family was in Ontario from at least 1882 to 1887, but were in Vancouver by 1901. Hi Shannah Only the Vital Events index to B, D, M are on line. These indices lead you to the film that contains an image of the original documents. The films can be seen and copied at an LDS library, use the GSU Film Number to find it in their catalogue.
