Hello listers. Well after yesterday am surprised my mind is still working. But Praise God it is. Bought two books from Canada. Well must have bought them and paid with credit card tho do not remember doing it. Get credit card out of computer room!! Any way in big book found that Chippewa a city or area is near Niagara Falls. Do not know for sure which side of the border it is on tho. But imagine it no longer exists. But am wondering if my Landry family could have came from this tribe instead of BC. Also my gggggrandfather Duncan McDougall who was with North West Company died near lake Superior so maybe he was with Landry family. Duncan died 1818 and his last known child Catherine McDougall was born in 1818 as well. Any answers out there? Thank you. Viola.
Many thanks to all who helped me find such valuable information on my ggrandmother! Especially to Pam and Claudia (copies received and readable). I am so happy to have this info which furthers my search substantially. Take care & happy hunting, marilyn

Hi Ken, What is the name / s you are researching. Death that occurred in B.C. between 1872 - 1980 - can be searched at the B.C. Govt Vital Events site. http://www.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/textual/governmt/vstats/v_events.htm This will show a reference. Name - age at time of death - place of death - and the registration number - microfilm #. These registrations can then be viewed - photo copied or hand copied . This information includes - name date and place of death - date and place of birth - if known. Names and birth place of parents - name of spouse - occupation - cause of death. Name of undertaker - Name of Cemetery - date of burial. If you wish to send the name - either I or other list members can do the search /copy for you. I can also search for the obituary if you wish. ( no cost) Cheers, Stella At 03:50 PM 10/30/01 -0800, Ken Williams wrote: >Does anyone know of a site that has listings for cemeteries and burials for >BC I am looking for an internment or scattering at Mountain View (South >Vancouver) about 1948-50. > >Thank you >Ken Williams White Rock > > >==== CAN-BRITISH-COLUMBIA Mailing List ==== >Visit the British Columbia Gen Web page at >http://www.rootsweb.com/~canbc/ >
