    2. K&D Lawrence
    3. Hi Ruth - I have a 1997 phonebook for that area and there is an O.T. CASSIDY living at 512 W.Banks St., Parksville, BC 250-248-5510 I would think this would be him. He is listed in the Nanaimo Obituaries as born 1910 and died June 12, 2000 in Nanaimo, probably in the hospital. Maybe someone can get you a copy of the obit. - Karen

    1. [CAN-BC] FAMILY OF OSWALD CASSIDY, QUALICUM, B.C.
    2. Ruth Staal
    3. I am looking for any information regarding Oswald Thomas Cassidy, born in the early 1900s to Anne McDonald and Thomas Smith Cassidy. He at some time lived in Qualicum, BC. He may be a link to finding a living relative on my father's side. Are there any records available in Qualicum? His sister lived (later in life, at least) and died in Vancouver so he may have, too. There is nothing in the BMD records of Oswald. His mother, Anne, later married my birth grandfather, but I don't know if Thomas died or they separated. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks. Ruth Staal

    3. Here is a link to the Wesleyan Methodist baptismal records for Ontario - this went on line I think in November or December - Bill Martin who looks after this - has a number of pages - http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wjmartin/wm-mc_77.htm Here also is a link for the 1871 Householders Index http://www.archives.ca/02/020108_e.html You can check out other links that I have found particularly useful on my own page of gen links at http://jamcnairn.com/Family%20Tree/gengenlinks.htm Which includes another link for alot of Canadian links - worth searching through http://www.islandnet.com/~jveinot/cghl/cghl.html Go to the Ontario section - there are many more things there if you know where in Ontario they come from - and there is also a section for Manitoba - and BC etc. Judi McNairn Bruce County, Ontario ----- Original Message ----- From: "Riccarda Mescola" <rmescola@inwind.it> To: <CAN-BRITISH-COLUMBIA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2002 12:23 PM Subject: [CAN-BC] Ontario and Manitoba > My friend's father and his family came from Ontario and Manitoba Canada. > Would you know where I might find records for those provinces on the net? > Ciao, Riccarda > > > ==== CAN-BRITISH-COLUMBIA Mailing List ==== > Every two months or so, please repost your interests, > telling us what you know and where you've looked > and what you still need to find out. > >

    1. Re: [CAN-BC] 1916 Address, Vancouver, BC
    2. Joan - I believe that these records are only for immigrants entering the USA through the Canadian border. This was formed because many immigrants were landing in Canadian ports and then stepping over the border rather than going through the stringent immigration procedures at US ports. As for visitors, I would think that would probably be covered under another form, possibly something along the lines of a visitor visa. I'm not really sure about this but I would be curious to know the answer to your question as that might open up another avenue for searching. Anyone? Shelly > Shelly, are these lists only one way--Canada to U.S. and not both ways? Are > they only immigrants or do they record visitors too? > Joan > >
