    1. Post 1901 Census - House Pettition totals
    2. Gordon A. Watts
    3. Greetings All. At the beginning of this past week I sent the following House petitions to the Hon. Don Boudria who has agreed to be our new 'champion' in the House of Commons. BC 1171 AB 425 SK 489 MB 122 ON 1213 QC 148 NB 2 NS 332 NL -- PE -- NT -- YT -- NU -- ========= Total 3902 From the numbers of signatures shown for the different areas you can see that some regions need to get into gear. Release of Historic Census records will benefit genealogists and historians in ALL areas, including those which have not to date sent us any signatures. Since mailing these petitions I have received a further 30 from Nova Scotia, 5 from Ontario, and 500 from Alberta -- including 468 from the Edmonton Branch of the Alberta Genealogy Society. With the 4,444 Canadian and Non-Resident signatures for the Senate posted recently by Muriel, and the more than 62,000 signatures sent from our previous petitions, we have now sent more than 70,000 signatures to Ottawa. Please keep the signatures coming. They are needed to show that we are serious about wanting access to these records. Happy Hunting. Gordon A. 3. Coralynn, If no one offers to get this for you try RAOGK at: http://www.raogk.org/bcolumbia.htm If no luck there then try Don Crawford at: http://members.shaw.ca/copies/ where for $4.00 he will get it for you. I have no interest in Mr. Crawfords business except as a satisfied customer. 3. At this site http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-58B4296/gbsearch/Births,Marriages,Deaths you can play around with the names and see what you can find - for example, there is a Frank Lain Delong who married a Margaret Pearl Hicks in Prince George in 1920. The community of Likely is relatively close to Prince George. Good luck Thelma

    3. Lars Grafstrom (1858 Lomma) is said to have died in New Westminster, British Columbia. He was marrried to Albertina (born about 1865). According to the Ellis Island lists they were Citizens of US when they arrived toNew York in 1901. Lars' parents were Lars Grafström (1826 Fosie) and Anna Maria Adamsson (1827-1859 Lomma). I can't find neither Lars nor Albertina in the BC records on the Internet. The relative, who gave me the information, is sure he died in NW. Lars' halfbrother Carl August Grafström (1873 Lomma- 1933 Vancouver) has a dughter Ingrid married McWilliams in Comox. I can't find her in the telephone directory. I hoped to get in contact with her to get information about both her father and her uncle. Any help is appreciated. Birgitta Nilsson --------------------------------- ALL-NEW Yahoo!
