To all readers:- The latest standing of all provinces is at follows:- ALBERTA....................49.62% BRITISH COLUMBIA.....59.89% MANITOBA..................85.72% ONTARIO....................97.90% QUEBEC,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,80.83% SASKATCHEWAN......56.11% Others - 100% includes Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Yukon and Northwest Territories. Labrador is included in Northwest Territories -- Don Tate and his group of Grand Banks site workers are constructing a 1911 census of Newfoundland. Any reader may assist in transcribing -- all one has to do is open up http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/ Do not worry about pages that have a black number == the ones we need to check might be numbered like this 365/700 >From the QUESTIONS -- We do not need to insert a missing line in the proper place, but may add it at the bottom of page, as long as the correct page number and family number is given. [So far this evening I have added missing lines to three pages] Ontario seems to be "stuck" at 97% -- we had better watch out for Manitoba and Quebec! Hi there I have 3 photos of family members. If anyone could look at them for me I would appreciate it. They are taken in North America, I think Canada and perhaps BC. I would like someone to look at them and please tell me by the man's and lady's fashion what year range the clothes might indicate. There is a car in a garage and maybe someone can tell what the license plate says. thanks for reading Judy in BC

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SENT ME INFORMATION ELEANOR was my gr. uncles daughter, a lady in England bought her bible in an old book store, Her daughter found my address that I was researching Eleanor, and has e-mailed the writings that Eleanor did in her bible. There is a bonus as well. during our correspondence we realized, that ancestors in the1600's in derbyshire were lead merchants and business partners, and each had at one time owned Haselbarow Hall. In the bible written in a different hand it says "called home Dec. 7th. 1918" Eleanor was 56 years old. Thanks again everyone. Very much appreciated. Regards Mary in Ontario appreciated
Hi Mary, My Grandmother, who was Nisga'a, went to school at Metlakatla in 1904. This school was run by the Church Missionary Society. William Duncan was the founder and leader of Metlakatla which was situated near Prince Rupert on the Skeena River. There are quite a few books about this village. I have read The Devil and Mr. Duncan. If you Google Metlakatla (this is the correct spelling) you'll come up with all sorts of things. Also, The Diocese of New Caledonia in Prince Rupert has a great many CMS records. Their archivist, Cliff Armstrong, has helped me immensely. Good Luck! Carol Wright Everything is always ok in the end. If it isn't - then it's not the end!!
Hi Listers I just found out that a reletive sailed from England in 1890 to B.C. ELEANOR GERALDINE THICKNESSE DICKENSON was a nurse and she may have come as a party of C of England group. Her sister Lillias Rose Dickenson may have come also. E.G.D.'s bible entry says Vancouver 1894. Could someone direct me to where I might find out about Metlakatia Thanks Mary c
Dear Folks Last night while walking in the rain, I happened across a photo-album, in a back alley. As I am an avid family historian. I feel this is a precious item. If anyone can help me to return it to the original owner I would be most *grateful*, as I hope the owner would be. The album itself is a sort of pink colour with darker pink & black stripes. Pictures in it include Paris France The French Riviera Nice Sedona There is a postcard from Nice dated 19 Sept 1986 from Nice signed by "love Mom & Dad, and is addressed to Miss K (Karen) McKAY 6191 Azure Ave Richmond BC V7C 2N8 There is also in it a postcard that says "a Special Touch of Paradise" Sheraton Fiji - on the back it says- "Ideally located on the shores of the Nadi Bay" Very few of the pictures include names, but some do mention folks (Florence, Alf?- that live in Oceanside California & a Gordon. This album also has pics of a mother & children dated 1962. IMHO, many of these photos are priceless as they are of children growing up and scenes from Paris France including architecture. Pictures that cannot be replaced. If you happen to know of a Karen McKay formerly of Richmond (and maybe married now), please do let her know I have this valuable family heirloom? Thank you to all who can help in my quest to return this heirloom! With Resoect Teena -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. I did not watch the show but I think it's worthwhile complaining if it's a stupid show. Ines At 11:37 AM 11/10/2006 -0800, you wrote: >I totally agree with John. I totally agree with John. I'm interested in watching the show but the antics of the host, who also reminded me of Jim Carrey, I find quite inappropriate for the type of show. I was very disappointed. After the first show I had looked on the History channel site to see if there was somewhere I could give my negative feedback but could find nothing. This morning, however, a search for 'Ancestors in the Attic' turned up a site that gives the following email address Ancestors.Search@allianceatlantis.com to "tell us your story, ask us your questions." Although complaints are not what they are looking for here, it appears to be the only way to contact them. I'm sure all the shows for this season have already been taped but perhaps unsatisfied viewers could express their concerns for possible changes if the show continues. I plan to do this. John. As with receiving poor food or service in a restaurant, or being dissatisfied with any other service or product, the powers that be do not know your feelings unless you tell them. I have not personally seen the show yet so cannot comment about it. I have however, seen many complaints on a number of mail lists. If you have complaints regarding the show I would, by all means, complain to them. I would be specific about why you are complaining, and include your thoughts on what needs to be done to improve the show. Go for it! Gordon A.
