    3. Hi, I think these must have been taken by Granddad, as we always referred to my Bundy grandfather. Our other Ramsay grandfather was just getting to be known as Grandpa, but he passed away when I was 3, and I was the eldest. I'd be happy to share these miscellany of Vancouver area photos with anyone, and if anyone can provide more or corrected info on any of them, I'd appreciate it. I wonder if anyone would know what the parade in several of them was for. Granddad always lived in the West End in his later years, and did before that during winters when not out in the Interior doing his cooking work. The scans are quite compact, so won't fill up your hard drive. :) Jim Bundy

There is also an Agnes Ford and Annie Jessie Ford buried in this cemetery. I wonder is one of them is the wife of Peter B. Ford. Thank you, Mary Swank California

    3. I don't suppose there are any photos of Burnaby, particularly Piper's Saw Mill. The family ran it from around 1907. I don't know when they left, but would think before the mid 1920's. I understand it's now part of the conservation area. My grandparents are in some of the,. other people I can't identify in some, and still others are of just the locations themselves. Every year my grandparents would be employed as cook and assistant at these camps, except for a very hard year in the 1930's, when Granddad couldn't find any work. Finally he was hired to cook at a camp for those out of work, and then afterwards he and my grandmother were out across the province once again. Do you know of an organization that would be interested in these? I'd be happy to share them with anyone also. 3. Hi, A bit of a mystery here. There's a note on the back of this picture of Telkwa, that says the following, missing some words: "country is about like...between Prince George...here on. Low hills like...and wide valleys. There ...plenty of land for farms...gets cold in winter but (no)t much snow. This is Telkwa main St 4 miles to camp". I understand that Telkwa is now a historic town, but still has 1400 residents. Jim Bundy

    3. Hi, I've been working on this project for a while now, involving the border crossing records 1908-18. Right now I'm working on those for Waneta BC, for those crossing from Washington State to BC, and have already finished several years. Additional years will be added later. the website that is hosting these records is at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cansk/bordercrossing/ Hope these help some of you. I'm determined to find my grandparents crossing over from the USA to BC around 1910. They both started their journeys in England, and ended up in BC where they met, and married at Nelson in 1912. 1. Re: [CAN-BC] I have hundreds of photos of locations in many areas of BC
    2. Jim Bundy
    3. Hi, I've received several helpful suggestions and several with specific interests. I appreciate them all. I've not had luck in getting any answer from the BC Archives, using any of their email contacts, but I'll keep trying. After moving Dad into assisted living, which became necessary this year, I've been entrusted with the photo albums for the most part, and have been scanning photos whenever I can. I've mostly started with the ones containing family, but I have stack and albums full of old photos taken in BC. My Dad's family is the one who moved around the most, but my mother had some from when she was a teacher in several locations out in the province in the 1930's, and some of the old Capilano ones may be of interest to some. I'll let you know now which ones I've done so far. This is just a bare start for this project, which will take some time. You may be able to help me identify some locations which weren't noted on the photographs also, and I hope they'll help someone. Anyway, here's some I have so far: (1)not exactly BC, but photos of aircraft Dad flew in training in Ontario in 1944 (2)at the BC Archives site, you can find a photo of the Sheep Creek Mine laundry/bathhouse. The young woman with the Hanson family is unidentified, but she was my grandmother, Catherine Purcell/Bundy. I have another picture of them at a later time also (3)Catherine Bundy with railroad repair crew at Christmas time, with hats from Christmas crackers (4)Greyrocks BC, looks like a dock (5) James Ramsay (maternal grandfather) with railroad crew about 1910, probably somewhere up the Frazer River canyon (6) James Ramsay marching into camp Vernon in 1916 (7) Leonard P Bundy (Dad about 4 years old) with parents on Observation car sightseeing Vancouver in 1925, "Teddy" Lyons conductor (8) Ocean Falls party, probably 1947. In Ocean Falls, people had to create their own entertainment in many cases. (9) Snowy Ocean Falls looking out the Inlet (10) Ocean Falls, launch of first boat Dad built, probably 1947 (11) Wingdam BC in the 1930's I think what I'll do is announce on the list when I scan another photo that may have information of interest. Of course, I have many more with groups of friends in Vancouver that I can't identify, several of those photos taken of family as they walked up and down the sidewalk near Hudson's Bay, taken by a street photographer and sold to us, etc. Jim Bundy at Kirkland Washington, where its snowing! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Bundy" <jbundy48@comcast.net> To: <CAN-BRITISH-COLUMBIA@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 27, 2006 3:54 PM Subject: [CAN-BC] I have hundreds of photos of locations in many areas of BC > Hi, > I'd like to ask a local expert if there'd be any interest in these many > many photos I have, mostly taken at logging, mining, and railroad camps > all around BC from 1912 till about 1940.
