    3. There is a possibility that a death in Ucluelet could be a drowning with no body recovered. In that case there would be no death registration.     3. If you can't find a death certificate, make sure you read the local newspapers to find his obit and see if a story was written about his death. Hi Kerry, On the Ancestry.com message boards is a lovely history of her family written by Astrid, the wife of James Thompson. http://boards.ancestry.ca/localities.northam.canada.britishcolumbia.southwestern/1791.3.1.2/mb.ashx It states that James died of cancer in 1951 and that Astrid remarried twice and lived in Port Alberni, then Nanaimo.
