    3. Hello Rod: Do you have Christopher's death registration? The link below (from the BC Archives Vital Events Index) looks like a match - http://www.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/textual/governmt/vstats/v_events.htm#indexes ) http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-3FA25BF/view/Deaths/find-adv%2B%20givennames%3D%28christopher%20OR%20gordon%29%20AND%20surname%3D%28mundy%29%20%2B%2B%2B%2B/1 If you do not have a copy, I can get a one from the local library for you and send you a scan copy. Typically, BC death registrations contain all the pertinent information such as place of birth, parent's names, marital status, etc. Another field that can be useful is the informant. This is especially true if the informant was a married daughter as you can sometimes determine their married name - if the form was filled out legibly or if you can read their signature. It is possible there was an obituary in a local newspaper. I could also have a look in the microfilms for this, and if I find something I can send you the scan. This might provide information on his surviving family members. Regards, Jodi On 8 March 2010 00:01, <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. 3. Rod & Glen: Check out the B.C. Archives (bcarchives.gov.bc.ca) vital events for deaths. Christopher Gordon Mundy died 1972/10/18 in Vancouver at age 87. There is no Rennie Mundy, but death record for Irene Mundy, d. 1981/8/1 in Vancouver at age 91. Could be her. You can order a copy of the records from BC Archives which would show who reported the death, could be the daughter. The website gives information about how to order and how much it costs. 3. Jean, Who were the parents. I'm in Campbell River and have a couple of books that might help but off hand there were very few Europeans living in this area then. Most small places were serviced by sea. In Jeanette Taylor's book Tidal Passages the History of the Discovery Islands she says Marina Island was formerly Mary Island. She mentions Mary & Henry Jeffery of Seaford on Cortes Island. I suspect the nearest Catholic church would be Vancouver at that time. I'm going to the genealogy society library tonight and will see what I can glean from other books there.
