    3. Hi Dennice and Joyce Thanks for taking the time to reply. Also thank you Dennice for the links to the death registrations. I looked at a couple of other provinces afterwards but they don't have the wonderful service that BC does. I will write to the 3 Warfords on Vancouver Island from the phone number link as well. Thanks again. After several sites I’ve opted for Family Finder (OR any autosomal testing via whatever site any might chose) and uploading RAW DNA file to http://GEDmatch.com has the paper trail / oral history trails have been confirmed as well as new links found. 3. Dear Leonie. I am from Tyldesley, Lancashire UK------------emigrated to Trail, British Columbia when I year old with Dad, Mom and sister Edith. 3. Hi Kerry, On the Ancestry.com message boards is a lovely history of her family written by Astrid, the wife of James Thompson. http://boards.ancestry.ca/localities.northam.canada.britishcolumbia.southwestern/1791.3.1.2/mb.ashx It states that James died of cancer in 1951 and that Astrid remarried twice and lived in Port Alberni, then Nanaimo. It also lists her sons. Janice On 2015-08-31, at 11:32 AM, ric48204 via wrote: > There is a possibility that a death in Ucluelet could be a drowning with no > body recovered. 1. [VANCOUVER-ISLAND] Roys and McCluskies in BC
    2. Lance McCluskie
    3. Hi Listers: I am asking for your help in locating cousins of mine who are descendants of James Roy and Elizabeth McCluskie who came to Canada from Scotland in 1906 and settled in Victoria, BC. Elizabeth was a younger sister of my great grandfather, John McCluskie, who settled in Ontario in 1873. The Roys – James and Elizabeth – died in Victoria, BC in the 1930’s: James on September 14, 1939 and Elizabeth on January 25, 1937. They had six children: Grace McCluskie Roy James Roy (Junior) John McCluskie Roy William McCluskie Roy Alexander Roy Jessie Crawford Clark Roy They were all born in Burnhouse, Beith parish, Ayrshire, Scotland. Possible current contacts are: Via Grace (who married Hugh Paterson or Patterson in 1907): - a daughter-in-law, Margaret, or Mrs. James Paterson, who died on June 12, 2000 in Victoria, BC, at age 82 - a son, Hugh Roy Paterson, who died on January 25, 1997 in Victoria, BC - a son-in-law, Joseph Astle Parker, who died on February 5, 1977 in Victoria. BC, (husband of daughter Gertrude Mae) - they had two children, Sherilee Parker, born about 1940 and J. Neil Parker, born about 1943 in Victoria, BC Via Jessie (who married Clement Richard Vasheresse in a second marriage) - a daughter, Angel D. Vasheresse who married Thomas M. Wybert. There are many McCluskie descendants now living in British Columbia and to my knowledge they have never been aware of cousins from the Roy family. I would hope to make it possible for the descendants of the two families to get acquainted. Lance McCluskie, Owen Sound, Ontario.

    3. Hi Jenn Thank You so much for this idea. I was sort of tossing this about but know that some Cemeteries are very fussy about it and some do charge. My email is off to them so will cross my fingers and I also mentioned the son James in case he is listed or cross referenced with the family. Tonight I am going to tackle the 1921 census but not much hope until it is indexed. As you know we say in Ottawa, "so you were born up in The Prior eh". Have been there but only have 2 old friends in Renfrew. 1. [VANCOUVER-ISLAND] CRAIG FAMILY - John A, Emma L, James & Benjamin C
    2. Lorraine Satchell
    3. Hello I have been on many Rootsweb Lists but think it is the first time on this one. Hoping someone would be looking for this family as just discovered they did not return to Ontario. John Alexander CRAIG was born about 1858 in Glengarry, Ontario In Glengarry, on April 22, 1891, John A. married Emma Linda CLARK I do think they went to the Yukon soon after they married and both of their sons may have been born there. Sons were James Craig - know nothing else about him but think he was the eldest. Benjamin Clark Craig was named after Emma's father, Benjamin Clark (going by the 1891 marriage copy). On the BC Vital Statistics sites, found a Benjamin Clark Craig had married September 3, 1920 (reg's Vancouver) to an Alv a Florence GRIEVE or an Alva Florence WILBAND. It was under same date but different surnames so she could have been widowed or divorced. Benjamin Clark Craig died May 20, 1946 reg's Vancouver. John Alexander Craig died Jan. 8, 1941, age 87 at his home 748 E. 22nd Ave., Vancouver. Emma died May 2, 1949 at age 81 in Vancouver. All 3 of them are buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver and are listed on their site. Thank Heavens for the net as I do not think they ever completed a census. I would dearly like to find more about James and if anyone is looking for more of this Craig info from Glengarry County, Ontario, please contact me. Thank You Lorraine Ottawa, Ontario

Louisa has been a puzzle for many years, but I eventually tracked her down as marrying Frederick Charles Canavor in Edmonton, England, in 1998, he obviously died because in the next British Census Louisa is a widow (no death entry found for Frederick) and then a marriage in Portsmouth, England, when she married Alexander McI Pitaluga.:- "Marriages Mar 1917 (>99%) CANAVOR Louisa Pitaluga Portsmouth 2b 937 Pitaluga Alexander McI Canavor Portsmouth 2b 937" I have been sent information as follows - "From information I have been given there is information of her arriving in Quebec on 11 July 1920, and that in 1949 she is shown on a census as aged 74 and a widow, living in Vancouver." and from a subscriber to the Canada-Genweb site - "British Columbia Vital Statistics online Louisa Pitaluga Age:77 Event: Death Date:1953 12 2 (Yr/Mo/Day) Place Vancouver Reg. Hello from New Zealand ? Actually in a hotel in Victoria at the moment!! ? While walking round Victoria yesterday?I was surprised to find a brick in the Forces Memorial next to the Victoria Information Centre that stated "The Anderson Family".? I have spent quite a while researching an ANDERSON family from this area and wondered if anyone could help with the ANDERSON family the brick refers to?? If not, is someone able to point me in the right direction? ?
