Register Guard, Eugene, Oregon September 22, 2004. Ruby Hodgson The funeral will be Sept 24 for Ruby Irene Hodgson of Cottage Grove who died Sept 19 of age related causes. She was 88. Hodgson was born May 4, 1916 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to George Logan and Effie Jane Earl Ballew. She married Elmer McCoy in 1936. He died in 1949. She later married Alvin Izarah Hodgson on Oct 23, 1967, in Idaho. He died Aug 24, 1995. She moved to Cottage Grove from Canada in 1923 and graduated from Cottage Grove High School.. She was a grocery clerk at Wolford's Grocery in Cottage Grove from 1949 to 1967. She enjoyed Halloween, reading, bowling and traveling with her husband in their motor home. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She belonged to the Garden Club and Lane County Extension Club. Survivors include a son Mason McCoy of Yreka, California, a daughter Mary Greenly of Montague, California, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Smith-Lund Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. Friday's service will be at 1 p.m. also at the funeral home.
