Ambrose Campbell, the son of old Gorge and Caty is the only Campbell descendent of George with boy children under 10 years of age in the 1810 census that I could find....Those of us that believe that this is a good lead may be wrong and you may be correct that Fountains father is a John Campbell or someone else. TRUE as to the only known one wih Children at the rightt AGE, <BUT> Where is there PROOF that this AMBROSE CMPBELL Ever llived in AGUSTA COUNTY??? CUZ AT; No one has said Ambrose Campbell ever lived in Augusta County. The only counties we know he lived in were Nelson documented in the 1810 census and Botetourt documented in the 1820 census. His descendants from Ohio said he lived in Franklin county Ohio but he died before 1830 and we have no legal record to support his Ohio residence. Now why Fountains father (whom ever it may be) would leave his 11 year old son in Augusta County with Henry Schultz (perhaps of German descent) is a puzzle to me and other Campbell researchers but that is a fact.
