    3. I have no other information than this. I just happened to run across this in my genealogy research. Campbell, Robert A., lawyer, legislator and Liieutenant Governor of Missouri, was born Pike Co., MO. His great grandfather, James Campbell was a native of North Carolina, and commanded a battalion at King's Mountain. He was also in the matter of Guilford Courthouse, and saw other action under Generla Sumter. Robert's grandfather, William Campbell, born in VA., came to MO. in 1818, while it was yet a territory, and was one of the pioneer lettlers in Pike Co. Robert's father, the Rev. James W. Campbell, was born in Harrison Co., KY., was minister of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 65 years. Robert's mother was Sophia (Henry) Campbell, a citizen of Lincoln Co., MO, was one of 41 members of the first State Convention of MO., in 1820, which formed the Constitution under which the state was admitted to the Union. He served in the Union Army during the civil War, rising from private to major. There is considerable further background information on him in the bio., but I have included the vitals. Jeanne Spain
