I do know how some of George & Caty's children and descendents turned up in Rockbridge Co. George & Caty Campbell's son Edward--the son who apparently everyone has the least amount of information on--moved to Rockbridge Co., where he appeared on the 1810 census. He was married to a Frances Camron. Edward's brother Joel (1776-1850), also moved to Rockbridge Co., where he lived until he died. Edward and Frances had a son named Joel (1787-1859), who also lived in the county his entire life. He was married to an Esther Shaw, son of Mathew Shaw. Edward and Frances also had a daughter named Seley (who married a Cash) and another son named Ambrose, who resided on and off in Rockbridge Co. I descend from Edward's son Joel, who had a son named Robert R. The family remained in the Vesuvius area of Rockbridge Co. until they moved to Raleigh & Fayette counties in WV in the late 1890's to be coal miners. Therefore,would you plese post (send a reply with the information) of just what information that you do have of the Rockbridge Co.,Va. Campbells that you are willing to share.
