Here is my connection to Rockbridge Co VA Campbell families. First of all, it is SAID but not proven, that my ancestor George T. Campbell b. 1824 d 1856 was s/o Cornelius Campbell b. abt 1790, d. 1840 Nelson Co VA, s/o George, s/o George and Caty, of Amherst Co VA. It is said, that Cornelius Campbell, and wife Catherine Campbell (d/o Henry Campbell and Sarah Wright of Nelson Co VA) had another son named Shannon D. Campbell. I should say that Catherine Campbell also traces back to the same George and Caty, as did her husband. Shannon D. Campbell married Polly Cash , b. 1816, m. 10-6-1836 Rockbridge Co VA. Their children: 1. Isaac Campbell b. 1847 2. Frances Campbell b. 1848 3. Howard S. Campbell b. 1850 In the 1860 census Polly and children are without Shannon, and again in the 1870 census as well. Apparently, either Shannon died , or went away from his family. Polly did not remarry, and they remained in Rockbridge Co VA. I have no further infomation on this line, but I would love to find someone connected to this line to compare notes with. Anyone have these names in their ancestry? Best regards, Lilly Martin
