    3. I know nothing further regarding the following, as none are Campbell's I am searching. I found these bio. in the History of Missouri. I am extracting pertainent information only: Given Campbell, lawyer, b 1 Dec., 1835, Salem, Livingston Co., KY, son of James and Mary (Given) Campbell, both of whom resided many years in Paducah, KY. His parental grandfather was James Campbell, b in the Parish Breadalbane, in the western part of Perthsire, Scotland, and a member of the Ardkinglas branch of the Campbell family. This James Campbell, the only member of family to come to the United States, settled in Petersburg, Va. where he was engaged in milling operations and foreign commerce. He served in the Revoluntionary War and the War of 1812. He married Marie Jeane Victore De La Porte, a French lady(daughter of General De La Porte) who became a refugee from France during the "reign of terror". Given Campbell's mother was a daughter of Dickson Given, who moved to KY from South Carolina at an early day. Mary Given Campbell's mother was Nancy Davis who was from an old KY family. Given received his early education in KY, and receid this scholastic and law studies at the University of Virginia. He moved to St. Louis. He practiced law there until 1861, when he became involved in the Civil War. In May, 1861, he was in command of Company G. of Colenl Rowen's regiment and was captured under General D. M. Frost at the surrender of the camp to Federal forces under General Lyon. He was released in August and joined the Confederate Army where he served for four years. He practiced law in New Orleans until 1873, at which time he returned to St. Louis. He married on 26 Jan., 1865 Susan Elizabeth Woods, of St. Louis. Her mother's maiden name was Berry, and she decended from an Old Massachusetts family. The children of Given and Susan were: Dr. Given Campbell, of St. Louis; Mrs Susan C. Arrnoux, of New York City; and James C. Campbell. There is some other background information, but no vitals. There are five other bios. which I will send as time permits. Jeanne Spain
