Anyone have any further information regarding the Charles Campbell I posted about a few weeks ago? I haven't been able to find a copy of the Chiles-Childs Family History that contained the story. I'm trying to confirm any part of the story. He supposedly was born in Cork, Ireland in 1694, was kidnapped by a press gang at age 12 to serve in the British Navy, and later escaped into Virginia. He worked and purchased land in Virginia, eventually moving back to Ireland when he was 30 (@1724), where he married and had children. His son George came to Virginia around 1750 to settle his father's estate, eventually settling in the colony. I heard that Charles Campbell may have owned land in Henrico Co., VA, probably purchased between 1712- 1724. Does anyone have access to the deed records for that county or live in the area? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve
