    3. I am interested in finding out if this man mentioned here is part of the Campbell families which began in Amherst Co and Nelson Co VA. From the location of the meeting of Amherst, Nelson, and Rockbridge Co., VA the location of Lexington, VA is just so close to our home area, I am guessing there is a connection to this man. The use of the initial M in the middle name, makes me wonder about: Massie or Maddox as the actual name?? These are wonderings of mine.... From the LEGAL profession and the Political office, makes me think of the WHITEHEAD family line, such as Capt. George Campbell, m.Eady Burcher Whitehead, d/o John. Is this a possible ancestor of William of Lexington? I am just thinking out loud in case it helps to identify this man.
