    3. This is an abstract of bio.: There should be no wrong states in this bio. Campbell, William C. was an early settler of Clay Co, MO. He was born in Madison County, Kentucky, in 1820, and died in Kansas City, MO. in 1897. His father, William Campbell, came to MO. in 1832, when William C. was 12 years old. He settled in Clay County, across the Missouri River from Kansas City. William E. Campbell, a grandson, stilled owned the property at the time the biography was written. William C. was a soldier in the Mexican War, under General A. W Doniphan. In 1851 he married Amanda Evans, daughter of William and Amelia (McGee) Evans, both well known in early history of Kansas City and Jackson County. Amanda was born in 1832 at Dundee place, and was probably the first white child born in the section of country west of Blure River. There is more written regarding her family. William E. and wife had three children, two daughters (not identified) and a son, William E., born Oct, 1859, Clay County. He married in 1878, a Miss Webster, of Independence, MO. Jeanne Spain
