Dugald Cambpell, both under age. Land in Orange and Ulster counties, in the Minnisink Patent. Executors -- wife, Mary Cambpell, and friends, John Lemonted and william Jamison. Witnesses -- Simeon Sonmaion, Joseph Haynes. Proved 15 Jan 1735. (Lib C, p 59) Charles Campbell 19 Apr 1766. Deed. Charles Campbell of south Cohansey, Cumb Co. to Jane Campbell of do for £20. Land on north side of Cohansey Creek etc. x x x Part of 75 acres which grantor inherited on the death of his brother James and by will of his father Charles Campbell, which came to him by deed of Leonard Gibbon dated 3 Apr 1733, being part of 5600 acres devised by Francis Gibbon by will of 3 Oct 1727 to "Leonard Gibbons and icholas Gibbons his brothers, sons of Arthur Gibbons", and deeded by coveyances, and by the will of Edmond Gibbons, formerly of Bennendon, County Kent, Gent., but later of New York, merchant. This document was given to D. E. Sheppard of Bridgeton by Mrs Elizabeth Dare Bennett Whitaker. See his notebooks M. H. VIII:118 and XI:316-337. Ano. Unrecorded deed of 1783 is from Thomas Platts, q.v., whose grandfather Jonathan Platts bought the land from Leonard Gibbons 9 Feb 1731. (M.H. VIII: 119) MsPO (MsPO= Manuscript Privately owned).
