    3. Marge, Thank you for getting the map started! I added myself and a photo of the next-to-the-oldest of my Campbell relatives. (I don't have a photo of his father). It's interesting to see some of the similarities between your photo of Elis and mine of James Young. Long narrow head, pronounced brow bone, deep-set eyes, straight narrow nose,... The family story goes that James' father was the one that came to the US from Scotland. That as yet Name Unknown Campbell came over with his brother in the mid-1700s. The story then says that the one brother (James father) settled in New Jersey, but the other brother traveled south, settled down and was never heard from again. It would be interesting to see if Elis and James connected somehow. The only unusual name that's used in James' descendants is Artis. It shows up at Artis Campbell and James Artis Campbell. It may have come from a distaff relative's family as well, but I haven't found it outside that line of Campbells yet. Thank you again for starting the mapping effort.
