Unsuccessfully I have been trying to find the father of my John Campbell who was married to Sarah Forrester and was listed in Rowan Co. land surveys 1760-1781 with land next to a Hugh Campbell on the Yakin River . John had 5 sons, John Jr., Wm. F., Archibald, Owens F., and Thomas F. He appeared in the 1800 census , which was by then Iredell (next to a younger James) and in Russelville, KY in 1810 with his sons, with the exception of Wm. F. who left later. I have a receipt that Wm. F. paid taxes in Iredell Co. in 1814. Wm. F. was married to Mary McLain. Have not been able to find a clue as to where John orignated or who is father might be.
