    1. N.C. Campbells and REQUEST
    2. a.b. craig
    3. Good Morning, It has been a blustery morning here, says Winnie. Come in out of the storm. Now, I really don't know just what most of you are researching. However, have been contacted requesting information on the N. C. Campbells. (early) Since I do not have my records, was wondering if you folks are up to a dare? Or perhaps call it a barnstorming. Since preRev. time frame it appears that most of the Campbells in the area of VA.,N.C. and S.C. were somehow related. Are you folks willing to post what you happen to have on the Campbells of that area. Also post what books articals, etc. we might be able to find information on tlhese Campbells. What particular libr. have a good gen. section. (I can't go myself, but perhaps there are those of you that could) Now, since my memory is failing me, and I don't have my records, could I encourage one of you to become a cental contact point for a fun project. Would each of you post what you would like to find. There are so many new ones on line that never say boo. I would like to address you quiet ones, I know that some of you are shy, don't think that your input would be of value, etc. Well you are wrong, I for one would very much like to here what you have to say. Don't worry about how you compose the wording, even your spelling, not all of us are good spellers,, I would like to know what you have found on your Campbell family line and for what you are searching, even if it is not my line. Since some of you are just starting to search for your family line, keep it simple with the names, dates and places if possable. Then there are others of you folks that have a great deal, please post. We have to remember(myself too) that I have what I do have because of others takeing the time to share. As a gift to me, would some of plese help me. While I was litterally DOWN, some thought for the count, a GREAT deal of the information that I had gathered was LOST. Because of the damage to my mind, I have lost a lot of my short term memory, perhaps I should just say memory. I have tried to share everything that I have with this message board. If you by chance have anything that I have sent to you, would you PLEASE forward it back to me. Since the Campbells from the area of Richalnd, Wayne and surrounding cos.,of Ill., and of Russell Co.,Va.are my lines, I am particully interested in getting some of that information back. I have been asked to do tape recording of what I am able to remember, Would you please send me some idea of how to begin. Doing voice tapeing as a means of recording will be new for me. . Have any of you done it? Is there any guide lines? If you had a great grandmother who had the family history, what would you like to know first, etc. Should I try and do it as just factual or should I try and do it as a historical novel? Please send me feed back. Beth --------------------------------- Yahoo! FareChase - Search multiple travel sites in one click.

    1. Re: [CAMPBELL] N.C. Campbells and REQUEST JAMES CAMPBELL
    2. Anne Ruby
    3. What a wonderful idea! Still searching for a James Campbell b. 1782 NC who married Martha Adams b. 1789 NC. Moved to Franklin Co. IN by 1817. Would love to find parents, NC county origin, and marriage record, if one exists. Both families were said to be of Scottish ancestry and James was a 'planter'. Any help greatly appreciated as I am stuck! Thanks, Anne --- "a.b. craig" <abcfhist2@yahoo.com> wrote: > Good Morning, > > It has been a blustery morning here, says Winnie. > Come in out of the storm. > > Now, I really don't know just what most of you are > researching. 3. Beth, I have almost all descendants of my g-grandfather John J Campbell, b. 1846/9 in SC (Darlington) and Cynthia Jane Elmore, b. Jan 1858 in Sumter/Darlington, SC, but I have found nothing on John J Campbell,'s parents or siblings. One census says his father was from NC and another states that he was from Ireland. There are no records on him in Darlington. Any help would be appreciated. If I can be of any help to you, let me know.
