Hello Mike, I want to let you and all other know, that the George and Caty Campbell group did have a direct descendant who went to West Virginia. The George and Caty group is from Amherst Co VA. Bartholomew Preston Campbell 1797-1827, he had a son James Anderson Campbell, who went to Upshur Co WV, m. Sarah Curry. Bart also had a son named John Preston Campbell, who married 5-24-1854 in Monroe Co VA, did this location become West Virginia? I don't know, but I want to bring this to your attention, in case there is a connection to your family. The children I have listed for Bartholomew Preston Campbell and his wife Judah Tabitha Mays, are: 1. LeRoy M. Campbell b. 1821, m. Rosa T. Maddox 2. James Anderson Campbell, m. Sarah Curry 3. On that and the fact that these two young men (well they were in 1850!) may not have been actual sons of Ellis.
