    3. Hello Mike, I want to let you and all other know, that the George and Caty Campbell group did have a direct descendant who went to West Virginia. The George and Caty group is from Amherst Co VA. Bartholomew Preston Campbell 1797-1827, he had a son James Anderson Campbell, who went to Upshur Co WV, m. Sarah Curry. Bart also had a son named John Preston Campbell, who married 5-24-1854 in Monroe Co VA, did this location become West Virginia? I don't know, but I want to bring this to your attention, in case there is a connection to your family. The children I have listed for Bartholomew Preston Campbell and his wife Judah Tabitha Mays, are: 1. LeRoy M. Campbell b. 1821, m. Rosa T. Maddox 2. James Anderson Campbell, m. Sarah Curry 3. John Preston Campbell b. 1826, m. Mildred Frances Long Note: there could be mnore children I am not aware of. Bart is the s/o Capt George T. Campbell, s/o George Campbell, s/o George Campbell and Caty. Do you have missing Campbell males in your line named: Matthew Campbell age 17 in 1850 Ambrose Campbell age 14 in 1850 We were once told that Ellis was not the real first name of Ellis Campbell b 1804 in VA... On that and the fact that these two young men (well they were in 1850!) may not have been actual sons of Ellis. How's about anyone having a male Campbell child born in 1804 VA who disapears from the family after 1820?
