    3. Lilly; There was a Huffman family that moved from Fort Germanna to the Pedlar Mills area of Amherst County prior to the Revolutionary War. Both father Frederick and son Henry served with Major William Cabell's Amherst County soldiers during the war. Frederick had a daughter Mary that obtained a marriage bond to marry John Smith in Amherst county in 1779 but there was never an indication the marriage was finalized as shortly thereafter Mary Huffman married a Craig from Augusta County and moved to Kentucky and John Smith married Mary Whitehead!!
