Lilly; As suspected, George and Caty Campbell were late arrivals in Amherst/Nelson County, or, at least he was late in "taking up" lands? I stopped in Amherst today and look at his acquisitions( deeds) which were 1769-1771. When his children say they were born and moved to Amherst, that perhaps is true. It is possible that he moved there in the 20's and done what most of our ancestor's done - became "squatters" and farmed vacant land at their pleasure. BH
