>>Amherst County, VA Deed Book K, Page 561 states the following: >> >>"22 NOV 1806, Jno. Campbell, son of Geo., & wife Polly, AC, to Jacob >>Puckett Jr, for 25. Hatt >Creek owned by Jno. Co.VA Deed Book 1:204 dated 3-13-1810.. Wm. Campbell & ux. Eliz., for brother John Campbell; Jacob Pucket and ux Eliz, formerly Campbell, to James Montgomery acres; int. In tract or share of Clary Clampbell - legatee of Jno Campbell. : John Marr; ;Henry Rose; Peggy Campbell's lot. ********************************************************************************* I will try to make an analysis of these 2 Deeds above. Let me identify who these people are, and their various relationships to each other, and to other Campbell families in the area. 1. William Campbell, he is married to Elizabeth. (He is the brother to John Campbell, the Wagoneer, who is dead prior to 1806, I do not know the father of this John and William Campbell) 2. Jacob Puckett, Jr. (he is married to Elizabeth Campbell, who was the daughter of John Campbell, the Wagoneer) 3. John Campbell, married to Polly Campbell ( this John is b. 1774 d. 1-9-1859 Scott Co VA, s/o George Campbell (m. Elizabeth), s/o George Campbell and Caty of Amherst Co VA. His wife Polly Campbell is d/o John Campbell, the Wagoneer. A descendant has the marriage record which states Polly Campbell is d/o John) 4. Clary Campbell (this could be a mis-spell for Cary, which is a MALE name, or could be a nickname for "Clarinda". This person named Clary Campbell is an HEIR of John Campbell, the Wagoneer, so either he is a SON, or is a WIFE, most likely. 5. Peggy Campbell (the lot's is identified as Peggy's lot, so we assume this means ownership. Peggy is a nickname for Margaret. Is Peggy the widow of John Campbell, the Wagoneer? Or is she a daughter of John?) Sorry, this analysis is pretty sketchy and weak, but maybe we can work to further identify these people. Best regards, Lilly Martin
