    1. Ambrose Campbell
    2. Hi Steven and other researchers; I've posted numerous times on this site the informaton for my 4th GGrandfather, Ambrose Campbell, son of Henry & Charity. Ambrose was b. in Scotland in 1740 and died in Nelson Co., VA in 1811, that part of Amherst Co which became Nelson Co in 1809. His wife's name was Margaret ? according to his will, and his sons were Peter and Tandy. His daughters were Polly (Page), Rachel (Ennis or Innis), Frances (Ennis or Innis), Sally (Mills), Elizabeth (Mays) and Lucy Campbell. Polly was deceased at the timeof the will and her children (6) inherited her share. Ambrose "came of age" in 1761 in Amherst Co, and served in the Rev. War at Yorktown. He was a tobacco grower. Ambrose lived next to the Glebe in Amherst/Nelson Co, VA and was a neighbor of George Campbell's. His son Tandy Campbell (b. 1780) was my 3rd Ggrandfather, and he married Mary Ann (Polly) Wright in 1805 in Amherst. Tandy and Mary Ann moved to KY after Tandy served in the war of 1812, and in 1830 moved to Lafayett! e Co., MO where Tandy died in 1845, and Mary Ann in 1855. Hope this answers some of your questions regarding this particular Ambrose Campbell. Phyllis in CA
