Brenda, I am not sure about the district, however, I live in Greenville County and Laurens is about 10 minutes from my home. I work in Laurens County. Is there anywhere in Laurens I could check something for you? I called the library for the history of Old Pendleton District: 1789 Old Pendleton District was established from Cherokee and Creek Land (basically present day Abbeville) 1791 It became Washington District 1800 Pendleton County - same boundaries 1816 added more Cherokee land 1826 Pendleton name was lost and the land became present day Anderson and Pickens Counties If you are looking for Laurens relatives you might want to check Newberry, Enoree, Greenwood, and Edgefield.
