    3. Hi Marvin Just checking in after arriving in TX... sorry, but I have no other information on the NJ Campbell'sbut that which I submitted to the mail list. My dsl will be hooked up next Tuesday (delay in getting furniture here). Once I get the dsl here I will start my research again. I hope to follow the NJ Campbell's to see where they end up. I do know that in 1852 or 1853, Nancy Clawson Campbell was at a family reunion in NY where her daughter Letitia was living ( Brooklyn newspaper story on the reunion Feb 4, 1852-3...have to get my files here to get the date). I have never found a copy of this article.. it is listed in a DAR application. There was a strong tie between the Dr. Melanctom Freeman family of Metuchen NJ & Ellis R Campbell family. Just not sure what it was, know the two families intermarried a few times. By next Tuesday, my new email will be margecam52@valornet.com I will post anything I find on the Campbell list. Marge ----Original Message Follows---- From: "Marvin" <marv3@redrivernet.com> To: "Margie Campbell" <margecam52@msn.com> Subject: Ellis Campbell Date: Fri, 30 Dec 2005 09:15:08 -0700 Margie, Below is the tax list from Allegheny co, PA. I'm wondering if Ellis had any connection to the Campbell's listed here. These Campbell's were living near the Hull and Rardin families who came from Middlesex co, NJ to Harris Ferry (now Harrisburg) and then to near Pittsburg then to Campbell county, KY and southern OH. My Campbell's were from Campbell co, KY. to OH to IN and IL. You show a Matthew Campbell as a son of Ellis. Could this be the Matthew Campbell who was one of the first settlers in the Cincinnati area who moved to Harrison co, KY where he died in 1819 ?? I haven't been able to prove if this is my John Campbell listed in St Clair Twp who was married to Mary "Polly" Rardin but have a strong suspicion it is. Mary Rardin's mother (Massie Hull) died in 1836 and her father (John Rardin Jr) died in 1835, both in Pendleton co, KY. I have the history of how they came down the Ohio river on flat bottom boats to OH and KY. I have lost my John Campbell somewhere near Campbell co, KY but have record of one of his sons living in Carthage, Campbell co, KY. Marvin PS I don't know what the numbers behind the names mean. There was no explanation on the list. Allegheny co, PA Tax List 1791, Elizabeth Twp. Rardin, William, 1 .9 Rardin, John, 2 .7 Hull, Benjamin, 10 Allegheny co, PA Tax List 1791, Moon Twp Campbell, Arthur, .5 Campbell, Joseph, 4 .2 Campbell, William Allegheny co, PA Tax List 1791, St. Clair Twp Campbell, John, 2 .8 .6
