    3. This will of James Campbell dated 10 June 1783 sent to this list, greatly interests me. In this Will this James Campbell listed one son as James Campbell. I've been searching for a long time for information & family of "A JAMES CAMPBELL" born abt. 1769 in Tryron Dist. NC. who d. August 1825 in Muhlenberg Co. KY. He married SARAH McCORD 16 Mar 1789 in Lincoln Co. NC. The Clan McCORD Assn. gave me this information: In 1790 David McCord b10 Mar 1747, sold his 44 acres of land in Mecklenburg Co. NC and taking his family started to Kentucky. His son, William, and his daughter, Sarah, married shortly before this trip and this trip was called the wedding trip for the 2 couples. William McCord married Jane Moore May 20, 1790. Sarah McCord married James Campbell on March 19, 1789. I wonder if anyone could give me any guidance about the SON James Campbell named in this Will. Could he be the James Campbell I'm looking for who was b. abt. 1769 in Tryon Dist. NC? Yes, there were hundreds of James Campbell's in the early days. The 1790 census listed these CAMPBELL's in Mecklenburg Co. NC: Alexander Campbell Not Stated, Mecklenburg, NC 1790 Andw Campbell Not Stated, Mecklenburg, NC 1790 James Campbell Not Stated, Mecklenburg, NC 1790 Robert Campbell Not Stated, Mecklenburg, NC 1790 Thomas Campbell Not Stated, Mecklenburg, NC Any help would be greatly appreciated.
