    3. As several of you are talking about Tennessee/Mississippi Campbell's perhaps someone might be able to help me. I have lots of questions! Louisa Lusk(?) was born about 1821 maybe in Virginia - said she was part Cherokee. Probably died about the time of the Civil War, which she kept telling her children there was going to be a war soon. Louisa and children all used the last name Campbell - have found no husband listed in any records. Children all born in Tennessee, probably Coffee County or surrounding county areas. Caroline Lavina born 1838/1839 Byron Hill (Doc) born 1841 Jefferson Dewitt born 1849/50 (left for west, Arkansas/Oklahoma in about 1880) James Theodore born 1851 Sara Florence born 1856 The story has been passed down that the father of the children was Gentile Brawly or something like it. He was from Mississippi, grew crops in Hillsboro, Tennessee area, and traded slaves in New York. The grandchildren said he was a mean man. Questions: Was Louisa married to a Campbell and continued to use the name? Were there more children between Byron and Jefferson who died? These are the children we know reached adulthood and no mention of other children by them. Was Gentile's last name Campbell? Was this really his name? Can anyone tell me anything about Campbellville, Mississippi? What date it was established and what Campbell families might have lived in the area. Any of those families with any names to connect to this story? You would certainly make a great- grandma in sneakers happy if you can help me out! Sue Mardres In Maryland
