I am looking for information about Thomas CAMPBELL who states (in his Revolutionary War Pension Application #S8169) he was born 1760 in Mecklenburg Co state of North Carolina and that this record appears in his family Bible. He adds that he was living in the county of Mecklenburg, now Cabarrus, when he was called into service and that he lived for thirty years in the state of Tennessee and now is back in the county of Cabarrus on the 16th of October 1832. I need to track down any record's of wills, deeds, etc. for this Thomas CAMPBELL and also need to know if he was married, names of children, etc. This Thomas CAMPBELL died 31 March 1833. I believe this Thomas CAMPBELL lived in and around the Montgomery County, Tennessee area during those 30 years he mentioned in his pension file. I find a Thomas CAMPBELL there who received a Rev. War grant for land and he is joined with a Thomas HUNTER from North Carolina and an Arthur TYNOR - all are from the same area of NC. Any and all help would be GREATLY appreciated! Colleen, Would any of your Campbells have migrated down to Chesterfield or Darlington, SC?
