    1. Duncan Camron/Cameron, father-in-law of Edward Campbell (son of George & Caty)

    3. I'm still trying to track down when George Campbell came to the U.S. (if he wasn't born here). I thought perhaps Duncan Cameron/Camron, father of Frances, could shed some light on the mystery. Frances Cameron/Camron married Edward Campbell, son of George and Caty. I found some immigration records on various Cameron genealogy websites. We thought this could be Edward's father-in-law. The second listing below has some repetition from the first list. I'm not sure if this accomplishes anything. If the records are accurate and complete (which most are not), it at least narrows down the list of Duncan Cameron (the father-in-law) candidates to three. I believe that Duncan Cameron migrated to the American colonies in the mid-1700's, probably when George also did. I mainly wanted to post it so it's in the public and perhaps someone can add to it later on. ??/??/1747: LONDON TO TILBURY TO BARBADOS ALEXANDER CAMERON: 20 YEARS OLD, FORMER RESIDENCE: NAIRN DONALD CAMERON: 48 YEARS OLD, FORMER RESIDENCE: FORT WILLIAM DUNCAN CAMERON: 32 YEARS OLD, FORMER RESIDENCE: GLENMORISTON DUNCAN CAMERON: 70 YEARS OLD, FORMER RESIDENCE: MOIDART JOHN CAMERON: 22 YEARS OLD, FORMER RESIDENCE: AIGUS, ROSSSHIRE JOHN CAMERON: 70 YEARS OLD WILLIAM CAMERON: 35 YEARS OLD, FORMER RESIDENCE: GLEN URQUHART 04/??/1742: SCOTLAND TO POTOMACK, MARYLAND DUNCAN CAMERON: 08/05/1747: LIVERPOOL TO PORT OXFORD, MARYLAND DONALD CAMERON: JACOBITE PRISONER DUNCAN CAMERON: JACOBITE PRISONER JOHN CAMERON: JACOBITE PRISONER JOHN CAMERON: JACOBITE PRISONER ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DUNCAN ??/??/1726...AGE ??..."THE NEW WORLD"..........#0013-PG. 020 EMPLOYED WITH: ROBERT FARQUHARSON OF ACHRIACHEN DUNCAN 04/??/1742...AGE ??...POTOMACK, MD.............#0121-PG. 132 DUNCAN 08/05/1747...AGE ??...PORT OXFORD, MARYLAND....#0123-PG. 038 SHIP: JOHNSON...DEPARTED: LIVERPOOL DUNCAN ??/??/1747...AGE 32...JAMAICA/BARBADOS.........#0013-PG. 020 SHIP: FRERE...DEPARTED: TILBURY...ORIGINAL RESIDENCE: GLENMORISTON...JACOBITE IN GLENGARRY'S REGIMENT DUNCAN ??/??/1747...AGE 70...JAMAICA/BARBADOS.........#0013-PG. 070 SHIP: FRERE...DEPARTED: LONDON...ORIGINAL RESIDENCE: MOIDART...EMPLOYED WITH: AENEAS MacDONALD...JACOBITE ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another batch taken in the Rising of the '45 and also shipped to Maryland include such names as John Grant, Alexander Buchanan, Patrick Ferguson, Thomas Ross, John Cameron, William Cowan, John Bowe, John Burnett, Duncan Cameron, James Chapman, Thomas Claperton, Sanders Campbell, Charles Davidson, John Duff, James Erwyn, Peter Gardiner, John Gray, James King, Patrick Murray, William Melvil, William Murdock, etc. http://members.aol.com/CLANCAM1/cam-ship.txt http://members.aol.com/CLANCAM1/cam-imig.txt --------------------------------- Yahoo! 3. Steve; I found another document regarding Duncan Cameron. Alexander Brown, in his listing of Early Settlers in Amherst/Nelson Counties prior to 1761, he list Duncan Cameron as living on Maiden Head Mountain. That mountain is called Mountain Top and Priest Mountain today. If you go to a map (I'll send you a map) you can find where the Cameron's live and George Campbell (Edward's father) lived within a mile or so of the Cameron's.
