I am very upset with all the negative emails that I have received lately from the Campbell website. I can't believe how childish some of the emails have been. I would like to be removed from this website . Before I am removed from this website, I would like to thank some of the Campbell researchers for helping me out with my research. I am a native of Amherst County, Virginia, where many of the Campbells traveled through before settling elsewhere in the United States. Through researching the Campbells, I have made many wonderful contact with Campbell descendents throughout the United States. We have all been so helpful to each other. Even though we live in different areas and have different backgrounds, we have two things in common and that is to research and perserve our family history. We have became a good team and have worked wonders together. We have always been polite to each other and willing to help each other out. I living in Amherst County, have met Campbell descendants who now live in California, Idaho, Delaware, Tennessee, and Richmond, Virginia, along with many other locations. With websites like the Campbell website, I would never had met these individuals! , or been given the opportunity to receive copies of old photos, letters, information, etc that has helped me out with my research and records. These individuals were able to shed light on my family roots. These individuals I have personally met, and then there are many who I have correspond with. I repeat, from these contacts, I have met wonderful people. Our dialect may be different, just like different languages, but we understood each other and respected each other. We all express ourselves the best that we can in our writings, and sometimes people may misunderstand the dialect of other people. Just to name a few individuals, there is Bev in Idaho who has expanded my knowledge of my Campbell roots, by filling in information that she has on her Campbell family that left Virginia and traveled west. My family never left Amherst County / Nelson County area, but through Bev I was able to experience the travels of our Campbell relatives. Through correspond that she has from her ancestry, I can now fill in the blanks. I have always read books, seen movies, about the west, now I can actually see my relatives traveling west with actuals names and see photos of actual people who have traveled these roads to the western frontier. I had heard stories about the Woodson Mill, which still stands in Virginia from my mother, who heard them from her father. Now through websites like this website, I was able to met Ro from Delaware. We found that we have so much in common and so many connections, that we spend nights Instant Messaging each other. If it wasn't for Ro, I would never had received my photo of my 3rd great grandparent on the Campbell side. Again without websites like the Campbell website I would never had met Bev or Ro. There are other connections that I have made through websites like the Campbell website. Another person that I would like to praise for all the hard work that he does is AT. I feel that many people take AT the wrong way, but remember we all have different dialects. He is such a gentle older country man. He really does have all the knowledge that he has written about in his emails. We had correspond some, and I later met him at the Nelson County Rootdigger meeting, which is a meeting at the Nelson County library, where everyone and anyone is welcome to attend. From this meeting, everyone from different back grounds work together to perserve the history of all individuals who's roots are from Nelson County, Virginia. AT is willing to share his wealth of knowledge with everyone and anyone. He is not the cruel man that some have written about. Just over the pass several weeks, I have seen him working hard to get information to other researchers. My great aunt just wrote a book on one of the Cash families from Amherst County. AT gave a researcher our information and she got in touch with us to see if we had a connection on the Cash family. Also, since I am from Amherst County, AT will email me for information on current residents of Amherst who may have knowledge that can help someone else. AT is a very sweet older man, who wants to help everyone and anyone find their roots and he has a great passion to help out anyone. If he knows of a connection that might help someone he is so willing to share. As I was taught as a young child, "judge not that ye may be judge". I have also taught this to my children and hope as my granddaughter becomes older that their parents would also share this with her. I hope this is shared with the Campbell population, but I also know that the manager of the Campbell website has the last call as to whether this email will be shared with the many Campbells across the world. I do know from personal emails that many of us are hurt at the attacks made by other fellow researchers. Please all remember to be kind to one another. We all are working for the same cause. Thank you for letting me take this time, Sharon Mays Williamson Tom Hesler <hesler@bellsouth.net> wrote: This is from the Welcome Message everyone received when they subscribed to the list. B.
