Well, then he is not the son of Ellis R Campbell b 1756 in NJ. Did you check to see which Campbell's were at the battle of Trenton? There is a list of those in the battle. Try a web search for "Battle of Trenton"+"Revolution"+"New Jersey" See if it brings up the list..I didn't save the url.
